Sometimes it is the simple things that bring us back to ourselves: a conscious breath, a moment of stillness or a gentle movement. This is exactly what Claudia Luna Amores’ yoga classes are all about. As a travelling yogi, she will be at CERVO from 30 March to 17 April, inviting our guests to reconnect body, mind and breath.
Travelling Yogis at CERVO
Several times a year, we welcome so-called Travelling Yogis to CERVO – yoga teachers from different parts of the world who teach at our resort for a limited time. During their stay, they offer special yoga sessions and workshops, bringing with them new perspectives and experiences.
These yoga classes are available free of charge to our hotel guests. External guests are also very welcome to join the classes for a small additional fee.
A wonderful opportunity to discover new practices, become more aware of your own body and perhaps even discover a whole new side to yourself.
We are currently delighted to welcome Claudia Luna Amores.
At home in nature
When Claudia talks about home, she isn’t necessarily referring to a specific place. She feels most at home in nature – on the beach, in the forest or in the mountains. In places where she feels the rhythm of life particularly strongly.
Her personal practice is also an important part of her daily life. Every morning she begins with her sadhana: She closes her eyes, breathes mindfully and takes time to reconnect with herself. For Claudia, this moment of connection is the most important way to start the day.
The path to yoga
Claudia’s journey to yoga began step by step. From an early age, she was interested in philosophy and in how people can find inner peace.
During a difficult period in her life, she first came into contact with meditation. This experience helped her to regain stability. Years later, she also discovered the physical practice of yoga – the asanas.
For her 30th birthday, she finally gave herself a special gift: a yoga teacher training course. There, she was able to bring together many experiences from her life and her career. Since then, yoga has been an integral part of her journey.
More than just exercise
Before becoming a yoga teacher, Claudia worked as an occupational therapist. Her aim has always been to help people improve their quality of life. It is precisely this philosophy that she finds in yoga.
For Claudia, yoga is much more than just exercise. Breathing exercises, meditation and mindfulness are just as much a part of it as the physical practice. In her classes, therefore, the focus is always on the individual – with their needs, capabilities and their own rhythm.
The power of the breath
A central element of her work is the breath. In yoga, we speak of prana, the life energy that enters the body through our breath.
In everyday life, we are often preoccupied with thoughts – tasks, expectations or worries. This makes it easy to lose touch with ourselves. Yet sometimes a simple step is enough: closing your eyes and breathing consciously.
Our breath immediately reveals how we are truly feeling. At the same time, it can help us change our state of mind. Certain breathing techniques provide energy, whilst others bring calm and clarity.
Yoga in the Mountains
For Claudia, it is something very special to be able to share her practice at CERVO, right in the heart of the Alps. For her, the mountains are a place full of strength and inspiration.
In her classes, guests can expect a calm, accessible yet powerful practice – suitable for beginners as well as experienced yogis. The aim is for participants to feel grounded, clear-headed and full of energy after the session.
And perhaps they’ll take something else home with them: the reminder that sometimes a few conscious breaths are all it takes to regain your balance.
