From carving to concerts: spring days in Zermatt

12.03.2026

The sun is shining, the days are getting longer and temperatures are rising – spring has finally arrived in Zermatt. Winter is still here – and right now the mountains are at their most beautiful. The winter season lasts until 19 April 2026, and the last few weeks in particular offer a unique experience: pleasant temperatures, bright sunshine and wonderful slopes.

Spring skiing – sun, snow and good vibes

Skiing in spring is a real treat. The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise ski area reaches up to 3,800 metres and guarantees top-notch snow fun. In the morning, the snow is firm and grippy, perfect for safe turns and a powerful start to the day. At midday, it softens, ideal for elegant carving turns and enjoying skiing to the full. The sun warms gently, the days are long, and the weather invites you to experience the slopes without freezing.

If you're in the mood for a little adventure, you can even venture over to Italy. Cervinia is only a few kilometres away and offers sunny slopes. Here you can enjoy a whole day of cross-border skiing.

Our favourite slopes in Bella Italia

On the route from Testa Grigia to Valtournenche, beginners, families and connoisseurs will find wide, sunny slopes that are ideal for relaxed skiing.

For advanced skiers, the descent from Testa Grigia via Cime Bianchi to Cervinia is well worth it, where wide, sunny slopes invite you to enjoy some sporty carving. The view is breathtaking, the snow is perfect and there is plenty of space on the slopes – a highlight for anyone who loves to carve.

Zermatt Unplugged

In addition to skiing fun, spring in Zermatt also has a lot to offer culturally. From 7 to 13 April 2026, Zermatt Unplugged, the music festival that fills the entire village, will take place again. CERVO will also feature live music daily from 2 p.m., which all Unplugged guests with a pass can attend.

New this year is the Zermatt Unplugged Connect format, which combines live music by Jon Middleton with guided breathing exercises by keur to create a special experience. These sessions take place on Friday and Saturday in the Ritual Room at CERVO Spa and can be combined with two hours at Atman Mountain Spa, including a guided sauna ritual – a perfect mix of relaxation, music and spring energy.

The Last Waltz

Another highlight in April is not to be missed: The Last Waltz, our legendary season-end party on the Madre Nostra terrace. On 19 April from 12 noon, we will raise a glass one last time to the wonderful winter season. Whether locals or guests – everyone is welcome to enjoy music, drinks and the last turns on the slopes together.

Relaxation at Atman Mountain Spa

After an active day in the mountains, the CERVO Spa invites you to relax and recharge your batteries. Whether it's a day spa, yoga or meditation, everyone will find the perfect balance here. There are various activities every day – from peaceful meditation sessions to dynamic yoga classes and guided breathing exercises that bring body and mind into harmony.

At the end of March, we welcome travelling yogi Claudia Luna Amores, who will be leading special sessions for our guests. It's the perfect opportunity to recharge your batteries, stretch your body and let the fresh mountain air linger in the spa. This makes a spring day an all-round relaxing experience – between powder snow, sunshine, music and moments of inner peace.

Spring in Zermatt combines skiing, sunshine, culture, music and relaxation. Now is the time to enjoy the last weeks of the season, feel the sun on your skin, experience the snow and pamper yourself to your heart's content. From 21 March, you can also benefit from a 15% discount on the total price for stays of three nights or more.
