Zermatt is known for the high quality restaurants on the mountain. A perfect ski or hiking day should definitely include a pit stop at one of them. Here are our favorites.
Heartfelt warmth, hospitality, stunning views of the Matterhorn and simply some time, just for yourself – that’s Chez Vrony. With a vibrant history, it has embodied a family tradition for over 100 years. It is one of the few restaurants that still uses its own organic products, made from animals nourished solely on Alpine grass. The drycured meat, the homemade sausage and Alpine cheese are all made to traditional recipes. Allow Vrony and Max to pamper you and enjoy the lovingly prepared dishes and carefully selected wines.
The Findlerhof restaurant is in the middle of a unique hiking area in Findeln, above Zermatt. The breathtaking view of the Matterhorn, the exquisite cuisine and wines are among the countless reasons why you can switch off and really enjoy yourself in a cozy, family atmosphere. The owner Franky and his team warms your heart and makes you feel at home! The Findlerhof classics are the Tris di primi - Scottish air-dried farmed salmon, duck liver terrine and beef tartare with beets - and a glass of sparkling Valais white wine to go with it.
Visit the famous Stellisee and continue your hike to the restaurant Fluhalp. Enjoy relaxed vibes, delicious food and a stunning view. Michi and his team make everything, to guarantee you an unforgettable experience!
Restaurant Zum See is in the wonderful namesake hamlet above Zermatt. Marion and Markus will spoil you in the restaurant or on the sun terrace, surrounded by several 350 -year-old chalets in a homey atmosphere, with views of the magnificent mountain world of Zermatt. Our favorite: homemade tagliatelle with veal bolognese and parmesan. Word has long spread in Zermatt that you can‘t go back to the valley without the famous Mille-feuille!
The Täschalp Restaurant & Lodge is located in the side valley of Täsch just outside Zermatt at 2,225 m.a.s.l. Here you can still experience nature as our ancestors saw it. Whistling marmots, the rushing Mellichbach stream and a diverse flora round off the mountain getaway experience.
