Part of the proceeds from the Dhal Makhani and Mezze dish from the Bazaar restaurant will be donated to the ‘Education for All’ organisation in Morocco.
Teenage girls in the remote villages of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco often miss out on school, due to location, poverty and lack of transportation. Education For All Morocco (EFAM) is a licensed UK charity, which manages projects in Morocco that run safe and comfortable boarding houses in and around Marrakech and further educational projects that enable girls from very rural areas in the south of Morocco to attend school and break the cycle of illiteracy.
Following the devastating earthquake in 2023, one of our projects has suffered a significant loss. Five out of six of our boarding houses were destroyed and we have been running temporary houses ever since until we can rebuild what has been lost.
To date, EFA Morocco has enabled over 700 girls to obtain their baccalaureate, with 14 of them going on to receive full scholarships at universities, and one of them has even obtained a postgraduate degree. Our students are pursuing careers in finance, tourism, law, healthcare and education. They become young, empowered women who can transform their lives and act as role models in their communities.
